Kürdistan Bölgesi Başkanı Neçirvan Barzani, Barzani Enfal Soykırımı’nın yıl dönümü dolayısıyla bir mesaj yayımladı. Barzani, geçmişin acılarının gelecekte bir arada yaşama ve barış kültürünün pekişmesine vesile olması gerektiğini vurguladı.

Neçirvan Barzani, Enfal suçunun üzerinden 43 yıl geçtiğini belirterek, şehitlerin aziz hatırası önünde saygıyla eğildi. Barzani, bu vahşi suçun ardından Barzani kadınlarının ve annelerinin omuzlarına büyük bir yük bindiğini kaydetti.

Kürdistan Bölgesi Başkanı, Irak Hükümetinin, Enfal mağdurlarının yakınlarını ve eski rejimin tüm kurbanlarını tazmin etme konusundaki ahlaki ve hukuki görevini bir kez daha vurguladı. Geçmişin acı tecrübelerinden ders çıkarılması gerektiğini belirten Barzani, mesajını şöyle sürdürdü: "Geçmişin acıları; gelecekte karşılıklı kabul, uyum, saygı ve kalıcı barış kültürünün temeli olmalıdır."

Barzani, mesajının sonunda Erbil halkına teşekkür ederek, "O zor günlerde Barzani ailelerine kucak açan, onlara yardım eden ve sığınak olan Erbil halkına, çevresine ve tüm fedakar insanlara şükranlarımı sunuyorum." ifadelerini kullandı.

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani issued a message on the anniversary of the Barzani Anfal Genocide. Barzani emphasized that the pains of the past should pave the way for a culture of coexistence and peace in the future.

Nechirvan Barzani noted that 43 years have passed since the Anfal crime, and he bowed in respect to the memory of the martyrs. Barzani stated that after this brutal crime, a great burden fell on the shoulders of Barzani women and mothers.

The President of the Kurdistan Region reiterated the moral and legal duty of the Iraqi Government to compensate the families of Anfal victims and all victims of the former regime. Barzani, who emphasized the need to learn from the bitter experiences of the past, continued his message as follows: "The pains of the past should be the foundation of a culture of mutual acceptance, harmony, respect, and lasting peace in the future."

At the end of his message, Barzani thanked the people of Erbil, saying, "I extend my gratitude to the people of Erbil and its surroundings, who opened their arms to Barzani families, helped them, and provided them with shelter during those difficult days, and to all those who made sacrifices."
